Initially Jim Shore pursued his art when and where he could. Supporting his young family as an engineer, he honed his skills as a sculptor and painter in his spare time. His passion was always his art, which ultimately led to the start of his own company.

Jim has painted in a variety of media including watercolor and egg tempura, a technique made popular by artists Andrew Wyeth and Bob Timberlake. Jim has also perfected his technique in silver and gold-smithing, wood carving, stained glass, furniture making, and stone sculpting. But, it's his recollection of nostalgic childhood memories and his deep appreciation of handcrafted quilt patterns and textures that inspires Jim's works-of-art.

The magic of Jim's design style is that it can be partnered with a variety of licensed brands. His partnerships with Disney, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and John Deere all showcase the traditional characters and icons in a style that can only be achieved by Jim Shore. Each piece touches the heart of the enthusiast through creativity and nostalgia.
